EMD has been operating in the wind energy business more than 23 years. Our consultancy team is offering a wide range of services focusing on wind resource assessment, micro-siting and estimation of energy production yields for wind farms, but we also offer other types of services such as technical due diligence and operating performance evaluation.

As developers of the WindPRO software package and our continuous participation in both national and international wind energy research and development projects combined with many years as wind energy consultants, EMD possess a strong and recognized expertise within the development and planning of wind farms and assessment of existing wind farms.

Our main office is situated in Denmark, the home country of modern wind turbine development. We have a wide international contact network and cooperation partners in several countries such as Germany, United Kingdom, France, Spain, Turkey, United States and China.

Our consultancy team includes besides English, German and Scandinavian speaking wind consultants also native speaking French and Italian consultants. All wind consultants are expert users of the WindPRO software package, and our consultants are typically also certified WAsP users and expert users of other wind related software.

The consultancy team is client-oriented and focused on providing cost-effective consultancy services with a short delivery time. The majority of our references include European sites, but we have done studies in all parts of the world from Canada in the north to Australia in the south and from Japan in the east to the United States in the west. During the past ten years, EMD has been used as consultants for assessing over 25,000 MW of wind power capacity worldwide.

Major banks and financing institutions worldwide consider our consultancy services bankable, and often they will demand an independent annual energy production (AEP) calculation performed by EMD in connection with financing of new projects or acquisition of existing wind farms in certain countries.

As an independent consultancy company without ties to other companies in the wind energy sector, EMD guarantee a high degree of seriousness and confidentiality when providing consultancy services.
