EMD presents different examples of wind energy projects with the purpose to inspire project developers and to show how different types of projecting “problems” are handled in WindPRO. In the coming years there will be an amplified data bank containing experiences of how to solve different types of problems. All projects can be downloaded with the necessary data for trying out own ideas and testing own capabilities with the WindPRO software. Ideal for case studies and training sessions.

Cronalaght

Special characteristics:

• Extreme wind area
• Complex landscape
• No reference turbines, since this was the first wind farm in the region

Demonstrations:

• Import of logger files from a meteorological station
• Presentation of meteorological data
• Creation of a wind statistic
• Energy calculation with wind statistic and comparison with regional wind statistic

The project is situated in the county of Donegal in the north-western Ireland and is owned by Gineadóirí Gaoithe Teoranta, who has also provided us with the permission for this presentation. The projec has also been part of a current project to recalculate an old project.

A WindPRO project example of the Cronalaght project has been prepared and if you decided to install WindPRO samples (standard installation). It can be found on your computer e.g.
"C:\WindPRO Data\Samples\Cronalaght_Ireland".
