Background for "Middelgrunden Offshore Project"
EMD presents this project example "Middelgrunden Offshore", an example of a wind energy project which has the purpose to inspire project developers and to show how different types of projecting "problems" are handled in WindPRO. Over the years there will be a huge data bank with experience of how to solve different types of problems. All projects can be downloaded with all data needed for trying out own ideas and testing own capabilities with the WindPRO software. Ideal for case studies and training sessions.

This major project has been realized during autumn - winter 2000 on a shallow ground outside the harbour of Copenhagen and is one of the pioneer off-shore wind farms of the world. There is plenty of available public documentation on this project. On the Danish Wind Turbine Manufacturers Association homepage the erection process can be followed and the co-op "Middelgrundens Vindmøllelaug" who owns half of the windturbines, has its own hompage here.
Also the project is described in the study "Vindmøller ved tekniske anlæg" (Windturbines in technical environments), which was conducted 1999 - 2000 by "Green Globe, "Birk-Nielsens Tegnestue" and "EMD".
