New energyPRO 4.5 released

energyPRO 4.5.358 has been released. In addition to a number of corrections, we would like to mention the following improvements.

Improved calculation of electric units, including electric stores. With this third version of energyPRO 4.5, we have improved the calculation of electric stores, such as batteries and hydro pumped storages. The electric store will try to charge when the electricity costs are low and discharge when the electricity costs are high. Also, when having both electricity producing units and electricity consuming units, energyPRO will investigate whether it will be optimal to operate them simultaneous.

Demo mode. It is now possible to shift from an unregistered module to a registered module and save the project. If you from a colleague or external business partner receives a project file, where Finance, Account or Operation is used and you only have energyPRO with Design, energyPRO will enter Demo mode. You can now convert it to Design and save it and continue your work.

Introduction window when starting energyPRO in demo mode. When in Demo, you will meet an introduction window, informing you about your options when in Demo and giving you the options of requesting a test license, going to activation window or to continue in Demo mode.

GDPR. energyPRO is now in compliance with the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation, GDPR. You will be informed about which personal data energyPRO collects.

When it comes to the German CHP law, a new table is made in the report Energy conversion, annual, showing the how the different energy conversion units cover the electricity demand. Further,  some of the existing German CHP law functions are renamed and new functions are made.

 

Innovative combined CHP and Heat Pump approaches in district heating grids

NATO military camps should be sustainable, but especially be resilient. The International Energy Agency has invited EMD to present how energyPRO can be used to model this. The presentation is given today at The Technical Day at the IEA EBC Annex 73 in Frankfurt and addresses the following four aspects of energy resiliency.

Case 1: A CHP-plant with a gas and electricity driven heat pump
Case 2: Booster heat pumps and central heat pumps in district heating
Case 3: Circular energy transmissions lines modelled in energyPRO
Case 4: Market optimizations of Hybrid solutions.

The newly released article at Elsvier, “A modelling tool selection process for planning of community scale energy systems including storage and demand side management”, concludes that energyPRO, as one out of 6, passed all essential capabilities met with the highest score.

energyPRO 4.5 released

November 2017

With energyPRO 4.5 we introduce the new module COMPARE. With COMPARE you can generate alternative scenarios to a reference in one project file. You can compare the results between the reference and the alternatives, both energy conversion and cash flow. With FINANCE and ACCOUNT you can compare key financial figures, such as NPV and IRR. Further, changes made in the reference, will transpire in the alternatives.

energyPRO 4.5 starts with a Start window, where you can select among recent used files, the examples included with energyPRO and you have access to online information.

energyPRO 4.4 update released

May 2017
In this update, a problem with use of Google Maps when loading online data has been resolved. In energyPRO, the available online data is presented with Google Maps, but recently Google changed the format of how the map can be displayed. With this update, energyPRO is adjusted to this change.
