Introduction

Since 1987 EMD has developed and managed an online database "VE-databasen". The database consists of historical and actual data regarding the Danish energy market. From 1999 parts of the VE-database will be available on the web-site EMD-online.

Throughout the years EMD has performed analyses on behalf of different organizations based on these data. The Wind Resource Map for Denmark (in Danish) is a good example of an analysis based on an extensive amount of data from the database, namely weather data and production data for Danish wind turbines.

The data in the database are also used in EMD’s software tools, where more of the tools automatically can download updated data.

EMD is publishing a Danish quarterly magazine "Energi- og Miljødata", which in articles, graphs and tables shows the most important information from the database. The content of the latest issue of the magazine will be represented on this web-site (in Danish).

EMD-online was financially supported by the Danish Energy Agency in the period 1987-2000.
